Activities on Nov 9, 2001 ========================= Members of the mission: - Mrs. Helena Pavelkova (mother of Michal and Jan Pavelka, two of the missed students) - Petr Vana - Zdenek Vales - Josef Plachy [10:30] Mother, accompanied by the rest of the team visited the albanian archbishop Rok Mirdita. He was informed about the matter, and received the information leaflets. The archbishop promised to address all Albanians of catholic belief with a request for help in the search. [11:00] Mother and the rest of the team gave a very detailed interview to TV Albania. [12:00] The team visited the Czech Embassy in Tirane. On spot they were interviewed by Klan TV. Klan TV will accompany them on their tomorrow's journey to the north-albanian town Shkodra and will shoot a document about their mission. In the afternoon, mother provided an interview for Tirane's local TV station Real. Afterwards, mother together with the rest of the team met the deputy of Albanian Ministry of Interior Mr. Hujar Himci and the Albanian police director Mr. Bibil Mema. The deputy Mr. Hujar Himci informed Mrs. Pavelkova that both albanian police and army are involved in the search. Unfortunately, despite the effort of all involved, no new significant information about the missing young people has emerged lately. Furthermore, Mr. Himci informed Mrs. Pavelkova about the reward of USD 40.000,- that has been announced by the Albanian Ministry of Interior for any information that would lead to discovery of the students. Finally, Mr. Himci told that the missing students didn't cross the Albanian border and are most probably still in Albania. Later on, Mrs. Pavelkova met the leading representative of the Muslim religion Mr. Bektasi Resat Barbhi who has been paying high attention to the matter.
